This year’s IAA will see Bridgestone introduce its new generation of Ecopia tyres for truck and bus.

Developed and tested in partnership with Bridgestone’s fleet customers across Europe, this new Ecopia range will lower fleets’ operational costs all year-round by significantly reducing fuel consumption, and with the unique benefit of excellent wet grip and uncompromised mileage.

New interfaces bring superior benefits to fleets and partners

Bridgestone is also announcing that, as of 2019, truck and bus tyres will start to be supplied with electronic tagging system RFID (radio-frequency identification).

The addition of RFID will bring further value to fleet customers by enhancing the traceability of their tyre casings and providing a time-efficient and accurate system for data sharing and entry.

Customers will be able to freely access their report findings, which will ultimately help to educate the business and optimise their total cost of ownership.

RFID will be used across all Bridgestone’s interfaces and will bring significant value to their tyre management systems for fleets of commercial vehicles, today better known as ‘Total Tyre Care’.

F.C.C. TSR Honda France on Bridgestone Tires Win the FIM Endurance World Championship Title

Tokyo, Japan - July 31, 2018

Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) today announced that F.C.C. TSR Honda France won the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) title on Bridgestone tires.

This is the team’s first EWC title on Bridgestone tires.

Bridgestone has supplied tires for two teams in the EWC since last season.

One of the two teams on Bridgestone tires, F.C.C. TSR Honda France, took first place in two races and kept a high score this season.

With a fifth-place finish in the Suzuka 8 hours - the final race of the season - F.C.C. TSR Honda France won the EWC title.

“I am very pleased that many people supported us, we fought with Bridgestone as Team Japan, and won the EWC title at Suzuka on our home ground,” said Masakazu Fujii, Team Manager of F.C.C. TSR Honda France.
“It was a tough season, but the team staff and riders became one team and everyone's support gave us energy, boosting us to the world's number one. Thank you very much to everyone who supported us.”

Bridgestone zainwestuje w fabrykę w Poznaniu 700 mln PLN do 2020 roku

Do 2020 roku japoński koncern Bridgestone zamierza przeznaczyć około 700 mln PLN na nowe rozwiązania technologiczne i optymalizację produkcji w fabryce w Poznaniu.

Dzięki temu zakład ma zwiększyć dzienną produkcję opon z obecnych 31 tysięcy sztuk do ponad 40 tysięcy sztuk dziennie.

Jak wyjaśnił dyrektor zarządzający Bridgestone Poznań Roman Staszewski, dotychczas koncern zainwestował przeszło 2 mld PLN w rozbudowę swojego flagowego zakładu w Europie.

Obecnie Bridgestone Poznań zajmuje powierzchnię około 26 hektarów.

"Będziemy zwiększać nie tylko powierzchnię, ale i rozmiary produkcji. Na ten cel w okresie najbliższych pięciu lat przeznaczymy blisko 700 mln PLN. Do 2022 roku zainwestujemy przede wszystkim w rozwiązania technologiczne umożliwiające produkcję opon nowej generacji, będziemy także modernizować i optymalizować obecnie działające linie i procesy produkcyjne. Planujemy zwiększyć dzienną produkcję opon z aktualnych 31 tysięcy do ponad 40 tysięcy sztuk" – podkreślił Roman Staszewski.
