Nokia N900 - pierwsze wrażenia


Nokia N900 to pierwszy smartfon fińskiego producenta korzystający z systemu Linux Maemo i wyposażony w przeglądarkę Mozilla.
Mieliśmy okazję przyjrzeć się N900 podczas jej światowej premiery.

Nokia N900 nie jest oczywiście pierwszą Nokią z Maemo. Z Linuksa korzystały też internetowe tablety tej firmy - N770, N800 i N810. Żadnego z nich nie można jednak było nazwać smartfonem. Wszystkie łączył się z Internetem wyłącznie za pośrednictwem WiFi.
N900 jest inna - ma też moduł telefonii komórkowej.
N900, mimo sporych wymiarów bez problemu mieści się do kieszeni. To więc z pewnością smartfon.


Maemo, Linux - i co z tego?


Co jednak wynika w praktyce z zastosowania takiego a nie innego systemu operacyjnego? Najlepiej widać to zestawiając N900 z - do niedawna - najwyższym modelem serii N - Nokią N97. Interfejs N900 wygląda zupełnie inaczej.
Symbian N97 sprawia wrażenie oprogramowania zaprojektowanego pierwotnie do zupełnie innych zastosowań i jedynie przystosowanego do obsługi smartfonu z dużym, dotykowym wyświetlaczem.
Efekt: słaba ergonomia, nielogiczne rozwiązania (np. brak konsekwencji w stosowaniu pojedynczego i podwójnego kliknięcia).

Z Maemo w N900 jest zupełnie inaczej. Korzystanie z systemu to przyjemność.
Poruszania się po menu można nauczyć się szybko. Widać, że zostało zaprojektowane ono specjalnie dla tego typu urządzenia. Pod tym względem Maemo bardzo przypomina Androida (chociaż sam interfejs jest kompletnie inny).

Nokia N900 działa wyjątkowo sprawnie nie zwalniając specjalnie nawet podczas otwierania skomplikowanych stron internetowych.
System wymaga jednak jeszcze trochę poprawek - w trakcie kilkunastominutowego przeglądania menu telefonu udało się nam go dwukrotnie zawiesić.


Online - na poważnie


"Życie toczy się online" - to przewodnie hasło kampanii reklamowej Nokii N97.
Wydaje się jednak, że naprawdę online będą mogli poczuć się dopiero użytkownicy N900.

W nowym smartfonie zastosowano przeglądarkę WWW Mozilla, która zdecydowanie "gra" w tej samej lidze, co przeglądarki iPhone i Androida. Możliwe nawet, że jest od nich lepsza.
Żeby to stwierdzić, musimy jednak dłużej przyjrzeć się Nokii N900.
Pewna jest za to obsługa technologii Flash, chociaż odtworzenie filmu na DailyMotion sprawiło testowanemu egzemplarzowi nieco problemów.

Zupełnie nowy klient email obsługuje tworzenie i odczytywanie wiadomości w formacie HTML.
Nokia N900 ma zintegrowaną obsługę komunikatorów Ovi Chat, Skype i Google Talk. Korzystamy z nich dokładnie tak samo, jak z wiadomości SMS.
Żeby ustawić status, nie trzeba otwierać żadnej aplikacji - w N900 to równie proste, jak zmiana profilu.
Zintegrowano również mechanizm umieszczania zdjęć w popularnych serwisach internetowych (m.in. Facebook i Flickr).

W przeciwieństwie do Skype na iPhone, w przypadku N900 rozmowy głosowe możemy prowadzić również nie mając dostępu do sieci WiFi (a więc za pośrednictwem sieci komórkowej).


Bardzo duża Nokia


Nokia N900 to naprawdę duży telefon.
Nic dziwnego - 3,5-calowy ekran i wysuwana klawiatura QWERTY muszą gdzieś się zmieścić. Wyświetlacz, mimo że wykonany w technologii opornościowej (a więc wymagający lekkiego dociskania) jest wyjątkowo czuły.
Klawiatura nie zachwyciła nas, ale nie dostrzegliśmy też w niej żadnych, poważnych wad.

Podobnie oceniamy obudowę N900. Wykonano ją z plastiku o standardowej jakości.
Jest złożona dobrze, ale nie rewelacyjnie. Sliderowi brak wyraźnego, mocnego kliknięcia (charakterystycznego dla N97).


Nokia N900 - nareszcie!


N900 to Nokia, na którą czekaliśmy od dawna.
Wreszcie wyposażona w wysokiej klasy przeglądarkę WWW i interfejs w pełni przystosowany do obsługi za pomocą dłoni (chociaż w zestawie jest też rysik, który jednak przydaje się zdecydowanie rzadziej niż w przypadku N97).

Miejmy nadzieję, że do momentu rozpoczęcia sprzedaży (pod koniec bieżącego roku), Nokia upora się z błędami oprogramowania powodującymi zawieszanie się urządzenia.

Nokia N900 jest pierwszym ze smartfonów korzystających z Maemo.
Na pewno jednak nie ostatnim.
Nie wiemy, czy system zastąpi stosowanego dotychczas Symbiana i czy pojawi się również w tańszych urządzeniach (N900 będzie kosztowała 500 euro).

Jeden z przedstawicieli Nokii zapytany o przyszłość Maemo odparł, że jest ona "wielka i piękna".
